Personality:
Due to 'Pod' never having had much handling, she is a shy and nervous creature. Even though she is 5, she is still very much a baby and spooks at everything. She is very energetic and agile, so she needs to channel her energy into something to help her relax. She is very extroverted and needs to move her feet a lot. She hasn't been broken in, but she has a smooth, long stride and should be a good eventing horse with a lot of speed and a scopey jump.

Story:
Joe approached the nervous mare in the horse box quietly and spoke to her softly all the time. She eyed him warily and reached out to sniff his hands before she let him take her leadrope and lead her down the ramp. As soon as she was off, she pranced in a circle with her head as high as it would go, nostrils wide open. She foze, ears pricked, taking in the sights and smells of her new home.
"She seems pretty nevous Joe! Maybe take her to one of the smaller paddocks where she can see what's going on for a while before we put her in the stable," Summer was still holding Rumie, the new chestnut mare who had arrived at the same time as Vanilla Pod and Secret Weapon.
Pod suddenly seemed to decide she wasn't in any immediate danger and lowered her head. Joe took this moment to lead her quietly round to one of the small paddocks and removed her travelling boots. He stroked the mares sticky-up mane with affection, he could tell she was a sweetheart underneath all that anxiety. She butted him gently in the ribs as he took off her halter.
"What's her history?" Summer asked, she loved the mares unusual colour and admired her shining coat and the way she held her head.
"My parents rescued her from a dealership, she was in a real state when they found her, all ribs and no muscle apparently."
"They've done a good job of getting her condition back, she looks healthy now." Summer tried not to picture the mare as she was found, it was too upsetting for her.
"Yeah, but they haven't started her training yet, she's not broken in or anything. They thought they'd let us do that and see how our methods could help her overcome her anxiety issues." Joe was feeling optimistic about the golden mare and couldn't wait to see what she would be like to ride, and hopefully they could make her happier along the way.
